Mark Frymoyer Named 2025 Mercy Award Winner
August 7, 2025

OTTUMWA - (August 7, 2025)-Ottumwa Regional Health Center (ORHC), recently announced that Mark Frymoyer has been recognized as the facility’s 2025 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s facilities who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.
Established in 2001, the Mercy Award is an annual recognition program that honors the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.
"At Ottumwa Regional Health Center, our caring and compassionate team members are at the heart of advancing our mission of making communities healthier – and Mark Frymoyer is a shining example of this day in and day out,” said Bryan Harkness, Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of Ottumwa Regional Health Center. "We are so proud to recognize his many contributions to caring for patients, supporting our hospital, and serving our community. I’m grateful for Mark’s positive influence and the example he sets for all of us.”
As the Manager of Ottumwa Regional Mobile Intensive Care Services (ORMICS), Mark Frymoyer’s dedication extends far beyond the walls of the hospital. In 2024 alone, ORMICS responded to more than 5,000 calls throughout the county under his leadership. Mark is deeply committed to the community—operating Champion Bowl, a safe and inclusive hub for family fun and high school bowling teams and serving on the executive board of Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.), where he helps protect and empower vulnerable children. Whether responding to emergencies in extreme weather, advocating for his EMS team, or showing up at community events, Mark exemplifies ORHC’s core values and makes an immeasurable difference in the lives he touches every day.
Each facility winner, including Mark’s, will be considered for Lifepoint’s 2025 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in August.
