OTTUMWA, Iowa — March 12, 2026 - Ottumwa Regional Health Center has introduced the Novii+ Wireless Patch System in its Women’s Services department, providing expectant mothers with greater mobility and comfort during labor while allowing clinicians to continuously monitor the baby’s heart rate.
The wireless monitoring system replaces traditional wired fetal monitors, allowing patients to move more freely during labor. Mothers can change positions, walk, and even shower while still being monitored.
The Novii+ system can also be used beginning at 34 weeks of pregnancy for late preterm monitoring and allows continuous fetal heart rate monitoring for patients receiving an epidural without restricting movement.
“This technology allows us to provide continuous monitoring while giving mothers more freedom and flexibility during labor,” said Casey Klodt, Women’s Services Director at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. “Our goal is always to support a safe delivery while creating the best possible birth experience for the families we serve.”
Ottumwa Regional Health Center continues to invest in advanced technology and services to enhance childbirth experience for families across southeast Iowa.
