ORHC to Host Breast Cancer Walk

October 09, 2025

Ottumwa Regional Health Center will host its 5th Annual Breast Cancer Walk on Saturday, October 11, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the hospital campus.

The walk brings the community together to support patients, honor survivors, and promote the importance of early detection and breast health education. Breast cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the United States. Early detection through
screenings such as mammograms, clinical exams, and self-checks dramatically improves outcomes and saves lives. The walk provides a visible platform for the community to engage with this important message and encourages participants to take an active role in their health.

Attendees can enjoy giveaways, raffles, food trucks, pink-themed refreshments, helium ribbon balloons, photo opportunities with fun props, and a banner for walkers to sign. The event is designed to be family-friendly, allowing all ages to join in supporting breast cancer awareness.

On-site registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to wear pink to show solidarity with patients and survivors.
