Inpatient & Outpatient Rehabilitation

Inpatient vs. Outpatient Rehabilitation
When getting back home quickly and achieving the best recovery possible are your goals, the place you receive your rehabilitation therapy matters. Intensive therapy may help you return home sooner. For this reason, your doctor may recommend inpatient rehabilitation as the next step in your recovery plan. Care in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital is designed to help when you have experienced the debilitating effects of an injury or illness.
When you're recovering from an illness, surgery, or injury, you may also need outpatient rehabilitation. This means you'll get one or more types of therapy after you leave our hospital. Ottumwa Regional Health Center is equipped with an outpatient rehab facility with the goal of helping you continue to heal and get back to everyday activities.
What to Expect in Inpatient Rehabilitation
The goal of inpatient rehabilitation is to help you live as independently as possible through specialized treatment programs for conditions, including:
- Stroke
- Brain injury
- Spinal cord injury
- Orthopedic injury
- Neurological conditions
- Amputation
- Trauma
- Other conditions
Inpatient rehabilitation therapy can be an important next step for you or your loved one. Under our care, you will receive daily physician oversight, multiple forms of therapy and 24-hour nursing care. We are committed to providing compassionate care and giving you the dignity and respect you need on your journey to recovery. All of our therapy programs are customized for your unique abilities, tolerance for therapy and desired outcome.
