Chest Pain Center Accreditation
What it means to be an Accredited Chest Pain Center.
We earned our accreditation from the American College of Cardiology, meaning we meet or exceed quality of care measures for your patients who may be having a heart attack or other cardiac event.
Highest level of cardiac care
- Obtaining and interpreting an EKG is critical to early diagnosis and treatment of a heart attack
Our hospital consistently outperforms the national benchmark from Emergency Department
door to EKG for patients coming directly to our Emergency Department. - Opening a coronary artery within 60 minutes for ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction
(STEM) patients coming to the Emergency Department (or within 90 minutes from the time EMS
arrives at the patient's side in the field or home) has been proven to preserve heart muscle. Our
hospital consistently outperforms these national benchmarks for all STEM patients. - Accreditation as a chest pain center demonstrates the highest level of education and training for
all hospital personnel in alignment with current ACC/AHA guidelines and clinical best practices for
cardiac patients and consistency in the assessment and treatment of cardiovascular patients
across all hospital departments. - Achieving the American College of Cardiology (ACC) chest pain accreditation endorses our
commitment to continuously seek improvements in processes and procedures.
Collaborative care
Our Emergency Department is integrated with the local emergency systems, allowing our team to identify a CODE STEM from the field/home and determine the appropriate treatment of the patient to significantly reduce ischemic time and save heart muscle.
Post cardiac care
We are committed to make sure you're aware of your patient's hospitalization and plan of care. We also offer cardiac rehabilitation services, which has been shown to improve recovery time and lead to a quicker return to normalactivities after a heart attack.
Participation in this program requires a physician's referral. To refer your patient to our cardiac rehab program, call 641-684-2370.
