Teresa Brisendine, Director of Materials Management with Ottumwa Regional Health Center retired February 29, 2016 after 38 years of dedicated service. She joined ORHC in 1978 as a nurse’s aide on the Medical/Surgical Nursing floor, then trained as a float nurse aide. In 1981, Teresa joined the team in Labor/Delivery as an OB Tech. In 1988, she became a buyer in the Materials Management department, working into management, eventually transitioning into the leadership position when previous director, Betty Bruce retired. She has many fond memories of her years; one of her favorites is when the departments dress up for Halloween each year, especially the year when the whole department dressed as characters from the Wizard of Oz. “I’ll truly miss all the people I work with, they are a great team,” she says. “I’ve decided to remain on call as needed for now as it’s important to me that they transition successfully.” When asked how she will be spending her retirement Teresa shares she will have no problem keeping busy with plans to spend time traveling and camping with her husband, and enjoying her grandchildren. Congratulations and best wishes, Teresa!
