Obstetrics • Pregnancy & Birth
The Women and Family Center at ORHC is dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs for growing families from prenatal to delivery. Our nurses bring many years of experience in maternal and pediatric care, with nearly 500 infants being born each year at ORHC.
All of our physicians are Board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and one of them is on call 24 hours a day to care for those patients entering labor spontaneously. Board Certified/Eligible OB/GYN physicians have received 4 years of specialty training specifically in women’s healthcare, and are trained to do various procedures including C-Sections. You can rest easy knowing a specially trained OB provider is always available to ensure you will receive the best care possible.
All birthing suites are private and include a hide-a-bed for a support person who wants to spend the night. The suites are equipped with whirlpool baths. As a new parent, you’ll be comforted knowing that a lactation consultant is available for breastfeeding questions and our caring, supportive nurses are always available to help you with baby and self-care.
We also have pain management with epidurals available 24 hour a day.
Our in-center surgical suite offers the assurance to mothers who may require a C-section, that they will be able to remain in the Women & Family Center with the same, nurturing staff to provide care. Our prenatal and breastfeeding classes help to prepare and support you as you begin this new adventure of parenthood.
The Level II nursery has 24 hour, Pediatric coverage by a Board Certified provider. The nursery is organized with the personnel and equipment to perform the following care of newborns:
