For 15 years Ottumwa Regional Health Center’s Cardio/Pulmonary Rehab Department has nominated and celebrated the Cardiac Patient of the Year. This year the honor was given to Bob Beisch of Ottumwa. Bob was recognized for his outstanding commitment to life and behavior changes and was awarded a free maintenance membership to Cardiac Rehab for one year. In 2015 he faithfully attended every planned exercise session and his efforts resulted in shedding over 50 pounds! Bob credits his family as motivating him to health and the ORHC Cardiac Rehab Team for providing the means to achieve his goals.

Bob’s award was announced at the annual Cardio/Pulmonary Luncheon held on “National Wear Red Day”, Friday, February 5th. Dee Dorsett, Nurse Practitioner from the Ottumwa Iowa Heart Center was the guest speaker and gave an informational talk on hypertension related to heart health.

Blaine Rupe, Dietary Director and staff served a heart healthy meal of baked salmon and asparagus while the ORHC dieticians educated the attendees on nutritional information.

Congratulations Bob Beisch!
