Physicians, leaders, and clinicians from Ottumwa Regional Health Center gathered today to celebrate their receipt of the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence award. This award was presented to the Ottumwa Regional Health Center Wound Healing Center because it has met the Center of Distinction quality standards for two consecutive years. The Ottumwa Regional Health Center Wound Healing Center has achieved numerous benchmarks including patient satisfaction rates over 90%, an 89% healing rate in 30 median days, and other quality standards. The Ottumwa Regional Health Center Wound Healing Center was awarded this prestigious honor by Diversified Clinical Services (DCS), Inc., the nation’s leading wound care management company.
The Wound Healing Center at Ottumwa Regional Health Center is a member of the DCS Clinical Network of over 325 centers, with access to benchmarking data and experience of treating over two million chronic wounds. In the Wound Healing Center at Ottumwa Regional, over 340 patients from 2009-2010 received specialized treatment, often preventing amputations and helping patients return to active lives.

The Wound Healing Center at Ottumwa Regional Health Center is one of 74 centers in the country to receive the Center of Distinction award this year and one of 19 who also received the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence award in recognition of receiving two consecutive years as a Center of Distinction.
