Ottumwa Regional Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center Honored with Multiple Awards

(Ottumwa, IA) – Ottumwa Regional Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center has received the distinguished Center of the Year Award from Healogics, Inc. Nearly 700 Centers had the opportunity to qualify for the award and only 7 centers received it. In order to qualify for this award, stringent quality measure must be met, such as high healing outcomes, low days to heal and excellent patient satisfaction scores.

Ottumwa Regional Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center was also awarded the President’s Circle Robert A. Warriner III, M.D. Center of Excellence Award for outstanding performance. This Center has achieved patient satisfaction rates higher than 92 percent and a healing rate of at least 91 percent in less than 30 median days to heal, for a minimum of two consecutive years. The Center was awarded this prestigious honor by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. Out of 340 eligible Centers, 26 were honored with this award nationwide. This award is named for Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics.

“It is an honor to be recognized for our clinic’s success. I am grateful to the wound clinic staff for their hard work and commitment. They have perfected the skills needed to help patients heal and are dedicated to delivering outstanding results,” said Dr. Jessica Lewis, the Ottumwa Regional Wound Care Medical Director. “Our award-winning care would not be possible without the support of local physicians, nurses, hospital staff, and administrators. We thank you all, and especially our patients for their trust in our healing abilities.

The Ottumwa Regional Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center is a member of the Healogics network of nearly 700 Wound Care Centers, with access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating approximately 2.5 million chronic wounds. “We are all here for the same reason and we never lose focus of that. We strive for the moment our patients get to return back to their normal lives healed, not having to deal with the burden of a chronic wound. I’m truly amazed and blessed to work side by side with such an amazing wound care team,” said Melanie Kipfer, RN, Clinical Program Director.
