OTTUMWA, IA – Ottumwa Regional Health Center has donated over $60,000 of kitchen and office equipment to the Ottumwa Marketplace.

“With the clearing out of the former St. Joseph Hospital, we found the equipment in the kitchen and several offices was exactly what the Marketplace needed for their new space benefiting the community”, stated Phil Dionne, CEO.  Dionne added, “Items that still had some life, and could be put to use by others, were either donated to not-for-profit charities or were sold to them for $5.00 each.”

Duane Wood, Director of Nutritional Services at ORHC, says, “Once the Marketplace opens, it will provide education, cooking demonstrations, and provide opportunity for new businesses to start up”.  Wood serves on the Ottumwa Marketplace Planning Committee.
