Influenza Visitor Restrictions

The last few days have shown an increase in influenza activity in the community. Effective at 3pm today, January 19th, the front hospital entrance at the circle drive will be closed. By closing the front entrance, we will direct all patient and visitor traffic to the ER entrance where masks will be available to prevent the spread of influenza. For your safety and for the safety of our patients please note the following restrictions:
• No visitors with a cough
• No visitors under 18 years old
• All visitors must stop at the nurses’ station

People with flu symptoms should not visit. Symptoms include cough, fever, headache, sore throat, nasal congestion, runny nose, muscle aches. People seeking treatment at the hospital are not subject to the restrictions.

Visitors are encouraged to wear a mask. Alcohol based hand sanitizers are located throughout the hospital.

These restrictions are necessary to protect vulnerable hospitalized patients. We continue to evaluate the number of influenza cases and will make an announcement when we are able to lift the temporary restrictions. Thank you for your help in combating the spread of influenza.
