Medical Plan
Dental and Vision Plans
Part-time staff, working 20-29 hours, or full-time staff that work more than 32 hours a week, qualify for dental and vision plans. Delta Dental of Tennessee offers excellent dental coverage and a list of over 50 providers in the State of Iowa.
VSP (Vision Service Plan) or VCD (Vision Care Direct) will help employees and their families with annual eye exams and discounted glasses, frames, lenses and contacts. Call your trusted provider to see which plan is best for you.
Flexible Spending Account
Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D)
Life insurance provides financial support to the employee’s family in the event of the employee’s death. Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance provides additional financial support to an employee’s family in the event of an accident that result in the employee’s death or dismemberment.
Full- time employees that work 32 hours or more a week will receive one times their annual salary, paid for by Ottumwa Regional Health Center and can elect into additional voluntary benefits. Part-time staff that work 20-29 hours a week can elect into this benefit at their own cost.
Voluntary life and accidental death and dismemberment can be purchased for the employee, their spouse and any eligible children.
Short Term Disability Insurance
Long Term Disability Insurance
The hospital covers this benefit for all full-time staff, working 32 hours or more each week. This insurance will pick up after the employee has been off work for an illness or injury for 180 calendar days. Long term disability will pay 60% of their monthly base salary, up to $5000.
Part-time employees can elect into this insurance at their own cost and must work 20-29 hours per week.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
There are two EAP programs offered to employees of Ottumwa Regional Health Center. Cinga has a Life Assistance Program that can provide legal consultation, parenting guidance, senior care, child care, pet care and mental health assistance. This service is at no cost to our employees.
Caring Coins is a hospital-funded program that was designed to help employees in a time of disaster or crisis. Employees facing an emergency are encouraged to stop by HR to apply for assistance.
