Full-time staff, working 32 or more hours, or part-time staff that work 30-31 hours a week, are eligible for three medical plans; PPO, HRA and HSA. This gives the employee an option of choosing an affordable health plan that meets their insurance needs.
Dental and Vision
Part-time staff, working 20-29 hours, or full-time staff that work more than 32 hours a week, qualify for dental and vision plans. Delta Dental of Tennessee offers excellent dental coverage and a list of over 50 providers in the State of Iowa.
VSP (Vision Service Plan) or VCD (Vision Care Direct) will help employees and their families with annual eye exams and discounted glasses, frames, lenses and contacts. Call your trusted provider to see which plan is best for you.
Flexible Spending Account
Full and part time employees are eligible to participate in a Flexible Spending Account. Employees can contribute up to $2550, tax-free, to help cover medical expenses or up to $5000, tax-free, to pay towards dependent care expenses. You can access the funds via the provided debit card or through reimbursement with a receipt.
Life Insurane and Accidental Death & Dismemberment
Life insurance provides financial support to the employee’s family in the event of the employee’s death. Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance provides additional financial support to an employee’s family in the event of an accident that result in the employee’s death or dismemberment.
Full- time employees that work 32 hours or more a week will receive one times their annual salary, paid for by Ottumwa Regional Health Center and can elect into additional voluntary benefits. Part-time staff that work 20-29 hours a week can elect into this benefit at their own cost.
Voluntary life and accidental death and dismemberment can be purchased for the employee, their spouse and any eligible children.
Short Term Disability Insurance
This is a voluntary benefit that the employee will pay premiums for. There are two benefits to choose from; a 14 or 29 calendar day waiting period. Depending on which one you elect, the premiums will change and the duration of coverage will change. This insurance covers the employee that is off due to an illness or injury and will pay 60% of their weekly base salary up to $2000.
Long Term Disability Insurance
The hospital covers this benefit for all full-time staff, working 32 hours or more each week. This insurance will pick up after the employee has been off work for an illness or injury for 180 calendar days. Long term disability will pay 60% of their monthly base salary, up to $5000.
Part-time employees can elect into this insurance at their own cost and must work 20-29 hours per week.
Ottumwa Regional Health Center provides a 401K pre-tax retirement plan to all employees upon hire. The plan immediately accepts a rollover of qualified pre-tax contributions from a prior plan, if desired. The plan features a comprehensive selection of investment funds.

There are two EAP programs offered to employees of Ottumwa Regional Health Center. Cinga has a Life Assistance Program that can provide legal consultation, parenting guidance, senior care, child care, pet care and mental health assistance. This service is at no cost to our employees.

PTO is not guaranteed and requires approval by the employee’s manager.
Full-time employees that work 32 hours or more a week are provided a sick leave bank of 160 hours, annually. The 90 day probation period applies.
